A little about Amy

Precision is more important than pressure and while there are countless massage techniques it’s more important to know why you’re using a technique than just going through a protocol massage. My approach to each session is to listen.

How and why I became a massage therapist
I first became a massage therapist simply because I needed to pick a profession. There wasn’t any great passion or experience with massage therapy for me and I had no idea what massage was about. I was in the Air Force Reserves and gave my fellow airmen short massages during our down time. They said I had a natural knack for it and that planted a seed. At first I though it was ridiculous but I believe God kept pushing me in that direction. I kept seeing advertisements to go to massage school so eventually, I did. In school all my classmates said they wanted to  have a private practice and that sounded like a good idea. So I chimed in with the rest of the crowd and in March of 2002 I graduated and founded Massage on the Square.

In the 1st year of my practice I began to see how much massage therapy was helping my clients. I wanted to learn more about why massage was so effective so I went back to school to study and haven’t stopped. Now as a massage business owner and therapist I know the importance of finding a team of massage therapist that really care and know how to listen. I hope to create a thriving business with a team of well-educated and talented massage therapist.

Hobbies:  I enjoy bible studies, making soap, and hanging out with my husband while he fixes and rebuilds cars. He makes them fast! I like to play different instruments such as drums, harp, violin, guitar, piano, ukulele and clarinet. Not that I’m any good at it, but I do it anyway.
